'Regression towards the mean', is the phenomenon that if a variable is extreme on its first measurement, it will tend to be closer to the average on its second measurement-and if its extreme on its second measurement, it will tend to have been closer to the average on its first. I feel, our lives are tipped on the scale with almost equal weights on each side. Things will be good, things will be bad but at the end of it, they somewhat come towards the centre. That is the magic of time. Just like regression to the mean, things are never always all bad or all good, they tend to fall into the familiar droning tic of each day with time. Familiarity lets some people think they're sick of the same circumstances, same people everyday but they've grown accustomed to and comfortable around them. Comfort with people is so underrated. This regression is what brings you hope that no matter how things may seem right now, they're bound to fall back into the middle... -Isa.Khan
